Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 6 is set around the ‘Primal’ theme and it is primarily focused on survival and hunting. There are a lot of new additions to the game, all ranging from various short-tasks and side-quests and new things to find and discover in the game. Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 6: Primal has seen a lot of changes along with new and major changes to the map.
There are a lot of exciting things to do in Fortnite currently and one of such new additions to the game is its introduction of wildlife. I mean, you can’t have a Primal themed survival aspect without hunting, which requires wildlife to be hunted. The process of natural selection and the persistence of powerful beings. Animals in Fortnite are important as they offer meat while being hunted and their bones are used to craft and upgrade powerful weapons.
But you don’t have to pick a fight with them always when you can also make friends with them. Out of all the animals added to the game, some are tamable. Just like our previous article on how to tame a wild boar, the wolves can also be tamed. Here is how exactly you can do it by yourselves.
Where to find a wolf in Fortnite?
The first thing you need to do to tame a wolf is to obviously find one. Wolves generally move around in packs and you can generally find them in higher altitudes like the mountain areas. You can stumble upon theme anywhere on the map but they are persistent here more.
Keep in mind they are very hostile towards players so approaching a pack full of wolves is not a wise idea. You need to find a lone wolf, detached from any group or company of one of his own as that will be an easy target to tame. Finding one may not be so easy as in the theory and you may need a few matches to do so.
How to tame a wolf?
Once you have found the desired target wolf, now begins the second part of the plan. You don’t want to hurt the wolf as it would make things a lot worse. You need to feed the wolf in order to gain its trust and tame it. Wolves are carnivorous animals so they require meat to eat.
You can find meat by hunting any small animal, preferably chicken or boars. Upon hunting them, they will drop you with a chunk of meat or two. Be sure to keep a few on your inventory slot as you may require multiple.
Now simply go near the wolf, but not too close, and equip the meat and toss it towards the wolf. If the wolf notices the offering, it would come towards it and blue waves will appear on its head. When it starts to eat, that is your only chance to go near it and use your ‘Interact’ key to tame it.
You have to finish taming it while it is eating, otherwise, it will backfire on you. Once you have successfully tamed the wolf, cute little hearts should appear over its head. It will then follow you and fight with you. But they are a bit slower on the pace side than the players and their combat is also not that effective but it sure is cool to have a buddy to watch your back.
